BIO & ACHIEVEMENTS:
Dave's career in triathlon began with the inception of the sport back in 1976 and in winning his first Hawaiian Ironman in 1980. Dave repeated this phenomenal feat five more times during his long career. After being honored as the first inductee into the Ironman Hall of Fame in 1993, Dave stepped out of retirement at the age of 40 and onto the streets of Kona one more time. Amazing everyone, including those competing who were half his age, Dave placed second overall. Due to his sheer tenacity and love of the sport, Dave has since been known as "The Man". Today, Dave is busy running his own endurance sport consulting and coaching business, helping athletes of all levels make gains in the sport.
